Periodic Care

Periodontal (gum) disease is caused by bacteria from the plaque and tartar that accumulate on your teeth. Flossing and brushing help get rid of plaque, but plaque that is not removed can become more harmful. The bacteria can cause red, swollen, and bleeding gums, and periodontal disease may lead to damage and loss of the teeth, gum tissue, and supporting bone. In severe cases, untreated periodontal disease may contribute to several serious medical conditions, including:

  • Stroke
  • High blood pressure
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Pregnancy complications

At Shoreline Dental, Dr. Charles H. Keever III, DDS, LVIF, FIAPA and our skilled dental team are dedicated to helping you avoid these risks through preventing and treating periodontal disease. Please contact our Muskegon, Michigan dental office today if you have red, swollen, or bleeding gums. We look forward to working with you to improve your oral health!

A denture is a removable appliance used to replace all or some of your natural teeth. Dentures are made from materials that mimic natural teeth in look, feel, and function to help restore the health, function, and beauty of your smile. Dental crowns, also known as dental caps, are permanent coverings to fit over a decayed, damaged, or cracked tooth. A custom crown will be created to restore the function and beautiful look of your smile. Dr. Charles H. Keever III, DDS, LVIF, FIAPA may recommend a dental crown in order to place a dental bridge, to complete a dental implant, or to follow-up root canal therapy. Crowns can be formed from a variety of different materials, including porcelain and resin, for a natural color and look. Dr. Charles H. Keever III, DDS, LVIF, FIAPA and our skilled dental team can create and place your custom crown in just two visits to %COMANY_NAME%. When finished, your crown will revitalize your oral health and the beauty of your smile. Our knowledgeable staff will be happy to answer your questions about whether dental crowns are right for you

Bridges are a type of tooth replacement designed to replace one missing tooth or several missing teeth in a row. Non-removable and customized to look and feel like natural teeth, dental bridges can be anchored on the two teeth adjacent to the gap or on dental implants. Bridges prevent other teeth from shifting in the mouth, which could lead to bite or jaw problems and periodontal disease, and can safeguard the integrity of existing teeth and help maintain a healthy, vibrant smile. Dr. Charles H. Keever III, DDS, LVIF, FIAPA and our highly trained dental staff can help you determine if a dental bridge is the best option to enhance your smile, improve your oral health, and restore the function of your mouth. We look forward to hearing from you soon!

Dental Implants

If you are missing one or more teeth, dental implant restorations are an effective tooth replacement option. An implant will replace both the crown and root of the tooth, providing the strongest and most stable restoration. The implant, a titanium screw, will be surgically placed in the jawbone. Following a period of healing, our skilled dentist, Dr. Charles H. Keever III, DDS, LVIF, FIAPA, will complete the dental restoration. Depending on your needs, your dental implant restoration could be a:

  • Dental crown
  • Dental bridge
  • Full or partial denture

Once complete, your dental implant will be just as strong as your natural teeth and will match them in size and shape. We invite you to call us at Shoreline Dental today to learn more about the benefits of implant dentistry

BioPak and T-Scan

The latest technology added to Shoreline Dental was gained after attending a two week course at Las Vegas Institute April, 2018. We are now introducing, the BioPak and T-Scan! This new system has brought a whole new incentive to our TMD /TMJ range of patients.

The BioPak is a complete system that records a range of parameters of the stomatognathic system including the function of the mandible and muscles of mastication. The information obtained by the system helps diagnose and treat temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), sleep disorders and craniofacial pain. It can be used for restorative, orthodontic, denture, implant and occlusal reconstruction patient evaluation. Biometric technology gives the doctor objective data from which to make decisions and measure documented treatment results.

The T-Scan/BioEMG Integration software synchronizes the clinical data of T-Scan with the electromyographic data of BioResearch’s EMG unit. Together, they give a complete view of our patient’s bite. BioEMG measures muscular functions of the head and neck while the T-Scan shows occlusal contact timing and force distribution of teeth. This synchronization provides unparalleled evidence of what effect the occlusal contact arrangement is having on muscle function.

With these new systems in place we are now able to eval and treat symptoms at the master skill level, delivering ultimate results for our patients!
